Quick Poll: 9 Political Parties Meet Parliamentary Threshold

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A number of quick count pollsters in the 2019 General Elections revealed nine political parties that made it through the 4 percent parliamentary threshold, which pose a great chance for incumbent parliament members to be re-elected into Senayan.
Based on pollster Charta Politika which collected 86.5 percent of the entire data, political parties with great chances to re-take parliament seats include Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) with 19.88 percent, Gerindra Party with 12.67 percent, Golkar Party with 11.05 percent, National Awakening Party (PKB) with 9.63 percent, and lastly Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) that managed to garner 0.01 percent of votes.

Other parties scoring over the minimum threshold include NasDem, United Development Party (PPP), National Mandate Party (PAN), and Democrat Party.
Meanwhile, political parties that did not meet the minimum threshold are; Garuda Party, Indonesian Unity Party (PPI), Indonesia Solidarity Party (PSI), Hanura, Berkarya, PBB, and PKPS.
Other pollsters such as Indo Barometer and Indikator Politik Indonesia also showed similar results to those reported by Charta Politika.
In regards of the quick count results, Charta Politika Director Muslimin said that he was not surprised by it and that it had always been the pollster’s prediction upon seeing incumbent legislators retaking their seats with their Party’s having formed solid management and well-established system.
