TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan said he planned on creating an integrated zone towards a corruption-free area (WBK) and a serving and clean bureaucratic area (WBBM) in the capital.
In a bid to realize his plans, Anies signed a cooperation agreement with the Jakarta Higher Court, the Jakarta Police, the Jakarta Prosecutor’s Office and the Jakarta Military Command.
“We hope every regional institution, especially the ones under the Jakarta administration, will adhere to this program," said Anies Baswedan in the National Monument (Monas) area today.
Anies said he hoped the signing could spur all government institutions in Jakarta to rid the capital of corruption.
The signing of the agreement between Anies Baswedan and the head of the Jakarta Prosecutor’s Office, Warih Wardono, and the heads of the other institutions was capped with the release of white doves—symbolizing that all of the institutions would never break the pledge.
