TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan planned to revitalize Taman Tebet (Tebet Park) in South Jakarta by connecting two parks in South Tebet and North Tebet which are separated by Jalan Tebet Barat IX.
“We won't shut the road. We plan to elevate the park but not like a bridge,” said Anies at Taman Tebet, South Jakarta, Thursday, January 3.
The governor explained that width of the bridge connecting the two parks will be the same as the width of the park. So the people would not need to feel like going upstairs when they go from one to another park.
Regarding the budget, according to Anies, it has been approved by the Jakarta Council (DPRD) and had been included in the 2019 Regional Budget (APBD). He said he would speed up the project development this year.
Another revitalization that will be carried out by the Jakarta provincial administration is waste management at the Temporary Disposal Site (TPS) located not far from Taman Tebet due to the unpleasant smell it produced.
Through comprehensive management, the waste at the TPS will no longer produce bad odor and disturb the people hanging out in the park.
Anies wandered around Taman Tebet to review the condition of the park which was last revitalized in 2010.
