TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The police's Tinombala task force managed to detect traces of terrorist group East Indonesia Mujahidin group led by Ali Kalora deep in the forest of Poso, Central Sulawesi.

National Police spokesman Brig. Gen. Dedi Prasetyo announced the discovery of a post suspected of being a temporary base camp used by the terrorist group in a route known to link Poso to Parimo.

“We discovered and confiscated plenty of evidence such as clothes, equipment, up to communication devices,” said Dedi at the National Police headquarters in South Jakarta on Monday, February 25.

The National Police have warned the terrorist group to surrender by January 29, 2019. The ultimatum was announced through flyers spread by air and land, among others.

Ali Kalora grabbed headlines after his group murdered and mutilated gold miners in Salubanga village, Sausu, Parigi Moutong, Central Sulawesi, on December 31, 2018. It was suspected that the action was done to lure the police to the location.

On the next day, the group opened fire on police personnel who were investigating the crime scene and evacuating the bodies. Two policemen were injured in the incident.
