TEMPO.CO, Depok - National Police Chief General Tito Karnavian said that he had ordered Criminal Investigation Unit Chief Insp. Gen. Arief Sulistyanto, Jakarta Metro Police Chief Idham Azis, and counter-terrorist special detachment Densus 88 Chief Insp. Gen. Muhammad Syafii to accelerate the investigation of the bomb threat in the KPK leaders' homes.
Tito hoped that coordination between the units can expedite investigation towards the terror case against KPK leaders Agus Rahardjo and Laode Muhammad Syarif. "In the first day, I have even ordered [Idham Azis] that if necessary, the KPK can also form a team to join us to solve this case," said Tito at University of Indonesia on Thursday, January 10, 2019.
According to Tito, he had communicated directly with Agus and Laode in handling the case. "We hope the case will soon be resolved. The case [investigation] is carried out transparently," Tito noted.
On Wednesday, January 9, 2019, the house of two KPK leaders, Laode Muhammad Syarif and Chairman Agus Rahardjo, received terror threats by a perpetrator who hung a Molotov cocktail explosive inside a plastic bag over the gate of their houses.
According to KPK records, the threat was the ninth threat received by the KPK. "If this case is not revealed, there will likely be another terror," said KPK's Employment Union Chairman Yudi Purnomo.
