TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan said he would not change the traffic restrictions with an odd-even policy for an extended period starting at the end of 2019.

“Same as now. There is no change in route and time,” Anies said at the National Monument (Monas) area, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday, January 1.

Anies continued the odd-even policy on several roads in Jakarta starting Wednesday, January 2. The decision was set out in Governor Regulation No. 156 of 2018 concerning traffic restrictions with Odd-Even Policy.

In the Governor Regulation, the odd-even policy will be still implemented on Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat, MH Thamrin, Sudirman, Gatot Subroto, part of Jalan Jenderal S Parman from the end of Jalan Tomang Raya to Simpang KS Tubun, Jalan MT Haryono, HR Rasuna Said, DI Panjaitan, and Jalan Ahmad Yani.

For the time of implementation, the odd-even policy will take effect on Monday-Friday, starting at 6 am-10 am and 4 pm-8 pm. It is not implemented on Saturdays, Sundays and national holidays.

Anies said the odd-even policy would be still implemented to four-wheeled vehicles and above. He said he would evaluate the policy in 2019 every three months.

“We will collect data every three months. But that does not mean that the policy is reviewed every three months,” Anies said.
