Police Re-enforce Odd-Even Policy in Jakarta

26 April 2023 17:42 WIB

TEMPO.CO, JakartaMetro Jaya Police have re-enforced the odd-even policy in Jakarta as of today, April 26, after the Eid al-Fitr holiday. Violators of the traffic system will receive an electronic ticket.

“[Odd-even policy is] valid at all ETLE (Electronic Traffic Law Enforcement) points, and those that cannot be reached by static ETLE will use ETLE mobile,” Head of the Law Enforcement Sub-Directorate of the Police Traffic Directorate, Adj. Sr. Comr. Jhoni Eka Putra, said as quoted from the NTMC (National Traffic Management Center) website today, April 26.

The traffic policy applies at 26 points throughout the capital every working day or Monday-Friday during rush hours at 06:00-10:00 and 16:00-20:00 Western Indonesian Time (WIB).

Drivers who violate the odd-even traffic system will be subject to fines as stipulated in Article 287 of Law Number 22 of 2009 concerning Road Traffic and Transportation (LLAJ).

The regulation stipulates that violators of the traffic policy will be fined Rp500,000.

Jakarta's odd-even policy exempts 17 types of vehicles, including military and police service vehicles, state-owned vehicles, oxygen carriers, and logistics vehicles.
