“There are 30 daily additional flights starting from December 20 to January 6, 2019,” said Agus in between monitoring the construction of NYIA Airport in Kulon Progo.

He predicts that the airport’s passengers will rise 8.2 percent two days prior to Christmas day which will peak with 28,000 passengers and their return trip on January 1, which is expected to see the same number as its departure.

The Angkasa Pura I general manager said that the number of additional flights is thoroughly calculated since military flights would be absent from December 20 until New Year’s day. Flights, including the additional flights, will serve passengers from 05:00 up to 00:00 Western Indonesia Time (WIB).
