TEMPO.CO, Tangerang - State-owned airport operator PT Angkasa Pura II (AP II) has prepared operating plans at 20 airports to serve homecoming travelers during the Eid al-Fitr holiday this year. The Eid transportation period is scheduled to last for 16 days, from April 3 to April 18.
“Security, smoothness, safety, and service aspects are our priorities to present a meaningful and joyful homecoming,” AP II VP of Corporate Communications, Cin Asmoro, said in a written statement, on March 20.
Cin explained that one of the operational plans is to adjust operating hours at several airports. Some airports will increase their operating hours to accommodate the increased demand for flights. “We are coordinating with airlines and regulators on the additional operating hours,” he said.
AP II also sets service time standards at passenger touchpoints at the airports. For example, the security checkpoint (SCP) will take less than seven minutes, with a processing time of less than three minutes.
In terms of security, all airports under the management of AP II will mobilize a total of 9,416 personnel consisting of Airport Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF), Apron Movement Control (AMC), Aviation Security, military and police (TNI/Polri) personnel, Facility Care, Customer Service, Digital Service, and other personnel.
Cin affirmed that all airport facilities are ready and AP II has conducted the stress test as well as ramp checks at the passenger terminal and airside to accommodate the 2024 Eid al-Fitr holiday.
