Yogyakarta Airport Provides 7 Extra Flights for Year-end Holiday

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Yogyakarta Adisutjipto International Airport provided seven extra flights to anticipate an increase in the number of passengers during the year-end holiday. On the 2018 Christmas and 2019 New Year holidays, it is estimated that the number of passengers increased by 7.2 percent or at around 28,237 people.

The airport will also open the integrated posts starting December 20. “It is predicted that there will be an increase in air transport passengers up to 28,237 or 7.2 percent at the peak of the 2018 Christmas (D-2) arrival at Yogyakarta Adisutjipto International Airport on December 23. While the peak of departure (reverse flow) is predicted occur at January 1, 2019,” said Agus Pandu, December 20.

At the end of the holiday season this year, the number of passengers increased to 477,972 or 7.89 percent compared to last years'.

The seven extra flights to operate at Yogyakarta Adisutjipto International Airport are Air Asia with flights to Jakarta, Lion Air to Jakarta, Makassar, and Balikpapan. The Batik Air, Citilink, Garuda Indonesia and Nam Air will add flights to Jakarta, while the Sriwijaya Air airline adds flights to Makassar.
