Jokowi Inaugurates Indonesia`s Geoportal One Map Policy

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo today inaugurated the Geoportal one map policy and the national infrastructure development book at the Bidakara Hotel.
The former Jakarta governor said that his experience suggests that the country’s infrastructure development were always met with one major issue; the overlapping use of lands.
“My eyes were opened to the fact that our country has too many overlapping uses of its land spaces. With the one map policy we hope to resolve this issue,” said President Jokowi.
He exampled Kalimantan Island that sees 19.3 percent of its land has an overlapping use currently, moreover the issues of sub-district border issues.
Jokowi argued that Indonesia must adopt the policy since global civilization is entering the big data era which is meant to create a single unified reference, standard, database, and geoportal utilized for numerous developments.
“This policy redefines accuracy in development planning,” said President Jokowi.
