TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A politician of Democratic Party Ferdinand Hutahahean affirmed his party would not send a written report on the alleged violation during the peace declaration event despite the Election Supervisory Board (Bawaslu) noticed the indication.
“We will wait for Bawaslu and KPU (General Election Commission) to address themselves,” said Ferdinand to Tempo via a phone call on Tuesday, September 25.
Ferdinand claimed he had previously met Bawaslu official in a TV station for a talk show. During the meeting, Bawaslu admitted the ignorance of KPU that let supporters of Joko Widodo-Ma’ruf Amin pair brought campaign attributes and opened a campaign booth during the event.

According to Ferdinand, Bawaslu’s statement on the indication of violation could be made viral so the public could review the fact. “We hope this will be news and viral to then KPU will seriously take action towards the incident,” he added.
KPU could even disqualify the presidential and vice presidential if that proved as a violation, Ferdinand opined. Besides, the incident was unfair and a breach of campaign commitment declared by KPU in advance.
The Democratic Party chairman SBY lodged a protest to KPU by refusing to mark a sign on the declaration.
