TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Serbia started their World Cup campaign with a 1-0 win against Costa Rica in Cosmos Arena, Samara, on Sunday, June 17, 2018. Both teams exchanged shots but none changed the score line until the end of the first half.
Fifty-six minutes into the game, Serbian captain Aleksandar Kolarov managed to break the stalemate by scoring a goal from a free kick just outside the penalty box. The left-foot shot curved past the wall and goalkeeper Keylor Navas.
The result put Serbia on top of Group E with three points, waiting for results of Brazil vs Switzerland match.
On the second match scheduled for next week, Serbia will face Switzerland and Brazil will face Costa Rika.
