AirNav Indonesia Agrees to Nearly 7,000 Extra Flights for Eid

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State-run air navigation company AirNav Indonesia has agreed to 6,923 extra flights throughout the Eid homecoming period. Airnav Indonesia director of operations Wisnu Darjono said the total number of extra flights provided is 21,790 flights, distributed among 12 major airports in the country.
The number shows an increase of almost 11 percent from last year's homecoming season.
"The number of extra flights requested by airlines that we have approved is 6,923," Wisnu said on Monday, June 11.

Wisnu said that Soekarno-Hatta International Airport accounts for 45.6 percent of Indonesia's total number of extra flights with 3,163.
He added that the extra flights are only operable from June 7 to June 24. The last day for airlines to request extra flights was May 25.
AirNav Indonesia president director that last year's Eid season saw 77,010 aircraft movements, up 7.7 percent from 2016. For this year, he projects an increase of up to 10 percent.
