TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi said there will be 3,500 additional flights provided at Soekarno Hatta Airport within 2 weeks on Eid Day this year on 7-24 June.

"So in the whole Indonesia, it is 2.5 times," he said at Soekarno Hatta Airport, Sunday, June 3.

However, Budi said that currently there are only 358 more flights left.

"So the majority has been taken," he said.

Budi said it would restrict the taking of additional flights until Tuesday.

"Where I assign the Airnav to coordinate with all airlines to offer it back and it is set," said Budi.

He also predicts that the passengers using airplanes on Eid Day will increase 10 percent.

"For 2 weeks, the passengers will be as much as 5.68 million with 10 percent growth from 7 to 24 June. So it is measured from the seats," said Budi.

Previously, Director of Engineering and Operations, PT Angkasa Pura II (AP II), Djoko Murjatmodjo said to anticipate the increase in passengers, AP II has provided the self-check-in machine at the airport. This machine will help the flow of passengers so they will not accumulate at the check-in counters, especially the passengers who do not carry a lot of luggage.

Not only that, Djoko also said that AP II has also set the mobile-check-in officers who can serve the passengers.

The officers will be equipped with small printers and mobile phones that can be brought to facilitate ticket printing.
