KAI Jember Provides 7,494 Tickets Per-day During Eid 2018

TEMPO.CO, Jember - State-owned railway company KAI Jember operation area (Daop 9) planned to afford 7,494 tickets per day to accommodate passengers during Eid Homecoming 2018. The tickets consisted of 3,678 tickets for medium and long distance trains and 3,816 tickets for local destinations.

KAI Jember Public Relation Manager Lukman Arif explained there will be seven of medium and long-distance trains to many destinations and four local trains of Jember-Banyuwangi each day. The 2018 Eid Homecoming period will last for 22 days starting on Tuesday, June 5 or D-10 until D+10 on June 26.

“The passengers using trains is estimated to increase up to 6 percent from 189,873 in last year’s to 200,352 people this year,” Lukman noted in a written statement received by Tempo, Tuesday, March 20. The peak time of Eid mass-exodus this year was predicted to fall on Wednesday, June 13 (D-2) and the return flow on Sunday, June 17 (H+1).

Lukman stated customers are able to book the ticket for regular trains three months prior to Eid Homecoming, precisely on March 7-24. The tickets are available for 24 hours through KAI Access application, website kai.id, Contact Center 121, minimarkets, payment point online bank system (PPOB), and websites or mobile applications of company sales partner.

As for ticket booking at the train stations, customers can access it at 09:00 up to 16:00 Western Indonesian Time. Moreover, customers will get various advantages should they grab the ticket through KAI access application including E-boarding pass to ease the passenger during the boarding.

The Eid Homecoming 2018 passengers only need to show their e-boarding pass on their mobile phone to be scanned and ID card to the KAI officers at the train gate without having to print the ticket.
