TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State-Owned Enterprises Minister Rini Soemarno believes that the establishment of state firm holdings in the oil, gas, and mining sectors will be completed this year.

“I believe it can happen,” Rini said at the Jakarta Convention Center today, Sept. 22.

According to Rini, the establishment of the holdings can be done soon since the legal basis has been confirmed as the judicial review at the Government Regulation No. 72/2016 on procedures of state capital participation in SOEs and limited companies was rejected by the Supreme Court (MA).

Rini added there would be derivative regulations to support the bill. “Therefore, we are processing a government regulation on mineral,” she said.

Each holding company will have a government regulation. “We have harmonized two government regulations, namely the government regulations on minerals and oil and gas,” the minister explained.

Rini promised that she would establish other state firm holdings, for instance, those in the tourism sector. According to her, the establishment of the holding companies would be discussed after the establishment of holdings for mineral and oil and gas are finalized.
