TEMPO.CO, Bengkulu - Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) said that a 5.3 Richter scale quake has shaken Bengkulu region today, February 2, at 01:34 pm Western Indonesia Time.
The quake occurred at a latitude of 5,87 degrees south and longitude of 102,39 degrees east or at 178 km (110.604 miles) away from the South West of Kaur District, Bengkulu Province. The earthquake was not potential to Tsunami.
The Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) of Bengkulu Province informed in its press release on Thursday, February 2, 2017, that the general condition in Kaur is still safe.
The BPBD has yet to issue immediate reports of any casualty or damage.
