However, Director General of Disease Control and Environmental Health, the Health Ministry, Muhammad Subuh has confirmed that there had been no Indonesians among those infected with Zika virus in Singapore.
“No reports yet of Indonesians infected [with the virus],” Subuh told Tempo Wednesday in Jakarta.
According to Subuh, the number of people infected by Zika virus continues to grow. As of press time, 81 people have been infected by the virus.
Subuh said that he didn’t expect the virus to suddenly grow rapidly in Singapore. “We are now witnessing that our neighbouring country is on the brink of some kind of outbreak,” he said.
