TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) is trying to encourage the government to boost exports by providing inputs in the form of a road map for priority programs to increase exports.
"Our plan will provide a roadmap to the government to encourage exports in the future," said Indonesian Kadin Chairman Rosan P. Roeslani in Jakarta on Friday (22/7).
Rosan said the figure set by Kadin at 500 percent of increase in exports actually serves as a trigger to increase Indonesia's exports over a period of five to ten years.
According to Rosan, a number of cooperation frameworks in the form of a free trade agreement which is currently being intensified by the government are also expected to boost Indonesia’s exports and make domestic products more competitive in the global market.
