TEMPO.CO, Jambi - East Jambi Police Precinct has seized seven tons of firecrackers, which according to the carrier were brought from Jakarta.
East Jambi Police Precinct Chief AKP Waras Sundari in Jambi said police found a truck that carried firecrackers in large cardboard boxes, having checked a warehouse in East Jambi Sub-district.
“Police are still investigating the items carried by the driver,” AKP Waras Sundari said.
Police have detained the truck driver and his assistant along with the truck at East Jambi Police Precinct Headquarters.
Police have also questioned them. Both have said that they didn’t know who the owner of the firecrackers is.
“I don’t know who the owner is. We do have the travel permit, but I didn’t read it as we are used to carry and put it in the driver’s cabin soon after we get it. The firecrackers were intended to be sold in Jambi area,” said the truck driver.
