TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The National Narcotics Agency (BNN) said that crystal methamphetamine, locally known as shabu-shabu that is circulated in Indonesia, enters Indonesia through Malaysia.
BNN Deputy Head of People Empowerment Inspector General Police Bahtiar H Tambunan in Kendari on Friday said that efforts to prevent narkoba from entering Indonesia continue to be made.
"BNN continues to work with and call on all elements of the country to fight against drugs that threat the generations of the country,” Bahtiar said.
Bahtiar added that raw ingredients of shabu-shabu are from China and produced in Malaysia before entering Indonesia.
“Based on the data of several cases, shabu-shabu enters Indonesia through sea and land. Some are through airports," Bahtiar said.
Indonesia, Bahtiar added, also continues to build synergy with its neighboring countries to prevent drugs from entering the region and to fight against it.
