TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung said that President Joko Widodo has stated his concern upon postponed regional election in some regions. He said that the regions, notably will be led by acting administrator who is not in charge of budgeting.
"[He] concerns that it can disrupt governance," said Pramono on Wednesday August 26. "Therefore, President awaits suggestion and opinion from electoral committees and monitoring agency."
Moreover, Pramono added that the postponed election will impact the respective region in terms of budget absorbance, infrastructure development, and central government program acceleration.
He also said that President Jokowi is to discuss the matter with state institutes. The result of discussion can be in a form of Government Regulation in Laws in lieu (perpu).
There are in total four regions whose election postponed until 2017 namely Timor Tengah Utara, Mataram, Blitar, and Tasikmalaya.
