TEMPO.CO, Bogor – The Bogor Administration has issued a regulation ordering all nightclub owners across the city to cease activities three days before the start of the fasting month until three days after Idul Fitri.
Bogor Public Order Agency chief Eko Prabowo said the regulation was not aimed at stymieing the business of nightclub owners in Bogor, but instead paying respect to fasting Muslims during the holy month.
Eko said the regulation would be put into effect beginning D day-three of Ramadan until D day+three of Idul Fitri. “The same as last year,” he said.
Eko said his office in tandem with the city’s National and Political Unity Office (Kesbangpol) have summoned the owners of nightclubs, cafes, billiard centers and beer houses across the city to disseminate the information.
“Around 80 owners have been summoned to discuss the regulation,” Eko said, adding that the Bogor Administration would take stern action against those insistent on operating during Ramadan.
“We will roll out raids on entertainment venues to find the ones that are still open,” he said.
