TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The National Narcotics Agency (BNN) encourages University of Indonesia (UI) to build a drug rehabilitation center within the campus because many campuses have now been used to circulate drugs taken by the students.
"Around 27.5 percent of academicians take drugs from the total of 4 million drug users in Indonesia,” said BNN Deputy of Law and Cooperation Aidil Chandra Salim in UI Campus, Depok on Friday (22/5/).
So far, he added, there are drug rehabilitations in the campus although the number of drug abuse cases among academicians has been quite big and drugs are prevalent in campuses.
"(For example), even Deputy Rector of Hasanudin University in Malang was caught when he was having a drug party with his fellow lecturers and students. It’s time to provide rehabilitation within our campuses,” he concluded.
