W. Java Governor Inaugurates National Education Museum in Bandung

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - West Java Governor Ahmad Heryawan on Saturday inaugurated the National Education Museum at the Indonesian University of Education (UPI) in Bandung, West Java.
"In coincidence with the National Education Day, UPI has successfully built a National Education Museum. It is perhaps the first education museum built by a university in Indonesia," Ahmad said in his welcoming remarks.
Ahmad also said that a museum is the place that exhibits stories in the past to be learned for the future and the museum exhibits the history of education in Indonesia, especially in West Java.
"If you would like to know the history of education in Indonesia, visit this museum,” he said.
According to Ahmad Heryawan, education sector is one of the most important elements in the development a country and a country will never achieve progress and civilization without success in the education sector.
"Therefore, education is a very important element because development will not be successful without the success in in the education sector,” he said.
He further said that a primary education in Indonesia would not be possible without high quality teachers and lecturers.
