Dieng Gears Up for 6th Culture Festival

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Dieng Tourism Community, Pandawa of Dieng Kulon Village, Central Java is set to present sixth Dieng Culture Festival on July 31 to August 2 in Dieng plateau.

“For three days this year, variety of events will be held in Arjuna Temple, Dieng such as traditional art performance, Dieng highland trekking, mass drinking of Dieng traditional beverage purwaceng, balloon release, cloud jazz festival, and the peak will be the rite of hair trimming for Dieng’s gembel children at Arjuna temple Dieng,” said Chief of Pandawa, Alif Fauzi on Saturday April 25.

According to Alif, the organizing committe will also invite 10 villages around Dieng plateau to get involved in the festival. The orginizer in is now preparing accommocations for the anticipated 50 thousand vistiors of the event. Some of the accommodation has even been booked by travel agents.

This year, alternative accommodation in the form of camping ground is also provided by the organizer. More information about the event can be seen at Twitter account @FestivalDieng and website www.dieng.co.
