TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Sundanese traditional dance 'Jaipong' rocked the Festival dell’Oriente which was held in Turino, Italy, just recently.
“We are happy to perform various Indonesian and Italian dances, including Jaipong,” said one of the dancers Amie Tanoewidjaja as quoted by Antara News.
Amie and her sibling Febrie Tanoewidjaja formed a dance group called ‘InaDance’ in the Netherlands in 2007.
The dancers who performed in Italy are Indonesian-born who reside in the Netherlands. They are: Amie Tanoewidjaja, Rahmida Patmawati, Jane Samosir and Manuela Biesheuvel.
It was the second time InaDance performed at the Festival dell’Oriente to promote Indonesian culture. According to Amie, people always have high interest towards their performance.
“Visitors were even asking us for photos and asking what country do we come from,” said Amie proudly.
The 2015 Festival dell’Oriente was the biggest Asian festival which were held in various cities in Italy. It showcased traditional art and culinary from Asia.
