TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Papua provincial government hoped that the sea toll which will be built by President Joko Widodo’s administration would reach Papua in order to help boost development in the province.
Head of Papua Regional Development Planning Board (BPPD), Musaad, in Jayapura on Saturday said that the provincial government had asked the central government to extend the route of the toll road until Papua.
"We propose to the central government to connect Papua with the toll road so that prices in the mountainous areas would be cheaper,” he said as quoted by Antara News.
If the sea toll only reaches Sorong, West Papua, Musaad said that it is not enough to lower prices in Papua.
“If it only reaches Sorong, West Papua, it won’t solve any of our problems,” he said.
