TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) Corporate Secretary said BRI’s branchless banking, called BRILink, had served transactions with a total value of Rp632 billion (US$52.7 million) within a year, starting from September 2013.
According to Budi, BRILink has already had 15,000 agents across the country. The service, Budi added, is among other BRI’s efforts to raise financial management awareness among public.
“The service also provides public with access to banking services,” Budi said.
As one of BRI’s business unit, the agency-based service does not only provide operational efficiency, but also ease of access for BRI’s customers and non-customers.
Based on Bank Indonesia’s Regulation Number 16/12/DPAU/2014 on July 22, 2014, regarding Digital Financial Services (LKD), those who can apply as BRILink agents are individuals who have run a business for at least two years or non-legal body business units with permanent business location and are trusted by local communities.
