TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Army chief of staff General Gatot Nurmantyo has established a team to investigate shooting attack against four soldiers by Police Mobile Brigade (Brimob) members in Batam.
“The army chief of staff wants the team to provide a detailed report about the chronology and causes of the shooting attack,” the Army's head of information center, Brig. Gen. Andika Perkasa, told a press conference on Monday, September 22, 2014.
General Gatot, Andika said, has also asked National Police chief General Sutarman to establish a joint investigation team to ensure smooth investigation process. Based on the information received by Andika, the police headquarters has agreed to join the team.
Earlier, four soldiers were shot when personnel of the Riau Police raided an alleged storage of illegal fuel in Batam yesterday night.
