TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian Police, hand-in-hand with the Directorate General of Immigration, managed to arrest four foreign terrorist suspects in Palu last weekend. "The immigration is now confirming their passport’s authenticity," said police spokesman Inspector General Ronny Franky Sompie.
Ronny said that the four men originated from Turkey. Therefore the Police will be cooperating with the Turkish Embassy to reval their role in Indonesia.
Previously, Police arrested the four suspects in a house in Touwa, Palu, Central Sulawesi, on Saturday. The four men were with three Indonesians; Saiful, Irfan, and Yudit. Saiful was allegedly helping terrorist suspect Romy to hide, while Irfan and Yudit helped the four foreigners travel from Sultan Hasanudin Airport to Poso.
Head of Information Department of the Police Brigadier General Boy Raffli Amar said that the police suspected the four foreigners are likely related to Mujahidin Network of East Indonesia, led by the notorious wanted terrorist Santoso.
