TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Finance Minister Chatib Basri says his ministry have not been able to calculate and determine the total house budget that will be given to President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) and Vice President Boediono once they are out of office. The house will be given according to the Presidential Decree No 52 Year 2014 on Home Procurement for former Presidents and Vice Presidents.
"There hasn’t been any calculation yet. We are still waiting on which house to buy," Chatib told reporters in the President's Office yesterday.
The minister said that to date, SBY and Boediono have yet to decide which house to purchase. There is still time to handle procurement home although Chatib promised that this matter would be done by October 20 when the new President is inaugurated.
Chatib said the Ministry of Finance will not give homes in the form of money to SBY and Boediono. The Ministry will physically purchase a house for both men according to their desires and appropriateness.
Chatib assured that the budget on procurement home will still have its limit. The purchased home should be in accordance with the general price calculation for state official residence in Widya Chandra or the ministerial residence on Jl. Denpasar, South Jakarta, as a benchmark.
