TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Bima Arya, Chairman of National Mandate Party's (PAN) central executive board, said that PAN will remain in the Merah Putih Coalition and continue to play its role as a part of the opposition against Joko Widodo and Jusuf Kalla's government.
"There hasn't been a change in the agreement with the Merah Putih Coalition," said Bima on Monday, August 25, 2014.
Bima, who is also the Mayor of Bogor, PAN's desire to become part of the opposition was decided not only by the party's elites, but also by regional cadres.
According to Bima, the party has not made any attempt to officially communicate with pro-government parties. However, informal and personal communications will continue to be established.
Previously, secretary general of the National Democratic party Rio Patric Capella, said that representatives of parties from the Merah Putih Coalition have established communications with leaders of parties incorporated in the Great Indonesia Coalition.
