TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan has officially renamed three reclamation islands in Jakarta Bay that province-owned company PT Jakarta Propertindo or Jakpro would manage.
“Thus far, the islands are called C, D, G Island, and now renamed into Kawasan Pantai [Beach Area],” said Anies in the City Hall in Central Jakarta, Monday, November 26.
Anies explained the name C Island was changed into Kawasan Pantai Kita, while the D Island into Kawasan Pantai Maju. Both islands were located in Kamal Muara sub-district, Penjaringan.
The G Island in Pluit sub-district, Penjaringan, Anies continued, would be recalled Kawasan Pantai Bersama. “So, the names mean We, Go Forward, Together,” said Anies Baswedan.
The name changes of the reclamation island were regulated in the Gubernatorial Decree No. 1744 of 2018 on the Name of Kawasan Pantai Kita, Kawasan Pantai Maju, and Kawasan Pantai Bersama together with the city administration of North Jakarta and was ratified today, November 26.
