“As promised, my team has presented the Kalimalang project with four zones and we continue to coordinate with the Bekasi City Mayor. We have checked what is good and what is possible,” he said in Gedung Sate, Bandung, Thursday, September 27.
The revitalization is expected to spend a lot of funds considering the length of the river. According to Ridwan, his administration is committed to at least disbursing Rp40-50 billion for the first project.
"So, [we hope] that it can be a pilot project of river restoration and become the pride of Bekasi residents,” he said.
Ridwan Kamil promised that Kalimalang river will be transformed like the Cheonggyecheon river in South Korea. The construction plan will begin next year, pending the budget allocation.
