Rhoma Irama Optimistic Idaman Party can Still Join the Election

TEMPO.CO, Surabaya - Chairman of the Safe and Peaceful Islamic Party or Idaman Party Rhoma Irama is still optimistic his party can join the 2019 presidential election. "By God’s will, we’ll win at the State Administrative Court (PTUN) and become a participant in 2019 election," said Rhoma in Surabaya, East Java, Monday, March 12.

Idaman Party filed a petition against the decision of the General Election Commission (KPU) to PTUN. The lawsuit reported after the Election Supervisory Board (Bawaslu) rejected Idaman Party case against KPU’s decision No. 58/2017.

As Idaman Party leader, Rhoma declared to fight to the death to get democratic and constitutional rights as the other parties decided by KPU.

The second trial for the Idaman Party lawsuit in PTUN takes place today. "We will wait 21 days more," Rhoma said. He was still convinced the proposed lawsuit will be granted since his party has completed the file required.

The dangdut king came to Surabaya to attend Kebulatan Tekad dan Dukungan Fans of Rhoma and Soneta (Forsa) event for the Governor and Vice Governor candidates of East Java Khofifah Indar Parawansa and Emil Elestianto Dardak.

Rhoma Irama argued if Idaman Party lawsuit has been granted by the Administrative Court, the party will support Khofifah-Emil. "So far we supported Khofifah without party elements because we are still in legal process," he said.
