TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Pertamina president director Elia Massa Manik ensured that fuel supplies would be enough for drivers during the homecoming season.
“It’s very secure. We have deployed taskforces to monitor [fuel supplies] along the homecoming route. Thank God many people acknowledge Pertamina’s service’s this year,” Elia said in Jakarta on Friday, June 23, 2017.
According to Elia, the state-owned oil and gas company has prepared 10 to 20 percent extra fuel for all types of fuel. He added that the homecoming season is more critical than the counter-exodus after the Eid al-Fitr holiday. He suggested people on their way home utilize facilities provided by Pertamina, such as 50 fuel kiosks along toll roads.
“There’s a fuel filling kiosk every 10 kilometers at the toll road,” Elia revealed. In addition, Pertamina also deploys 83 mobile fuel sellers on motorcycles.
“If the traffic jam is severe, people can call and motorcycles [selling fuel] will come and serve cars that run out fuel,” Elia explained.
