TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State-run oil and gas company PT Pertamina supports the implementation of one-price fuel policy in other regions in Indonesia.
This is a follow up of President Joko Widodo’s instruction during his visit to Papua Province on October 18.
"After one-price fuel in Papua, the next target is North Kalimantan and Karimun Jawa," Pertamina president director Dwi Soetjipto said to Tempo in the middle of a discussion event "Energy Ind in Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS) Surabaya on Saturday (29/10).
She added that this policy will be applied in North Maluku and other regions but it’s going to take some time.
In order to realize this policy, Pertamina guarantees they will closely supervise the prices from public pump stations (SPBU) to distributors that are directly appointed by Pertamina.
As for retailers that are not offically appointed by Pertamina, they can earn some profit, Dwi said.
"Profit is fine, but not too high. I think there will be a local regulation that sets the highet retail price (HET)," she added.
