TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Maj. Gen. Agus Surya Bakti, Commander of the Military District Command (Kodam) VII Wirabuana said that Kodam Wirabuana has successfully revealed a bribery case on military candidate admission taking place in 2015.

According to Agus, the value of the bribe reached up to Rp. 1.5 billion. "The bribe was given to allow a military candidate to pass [all selection process]," Agus said on Wednesday, September 14, 2016.

Agus explained that Kodam Wirabuana found 11 cases of bribery and 11 people have been named as suspects. The suspects range from field officer, first officer, private, and petty officer. However, Agus refused to disclose the identities of the suspects.

Agus said that the people who received the bribes would be subjected to disciplinary actions.

"There are still four people that are undergoing military court-martial," said Agus.

In addition to prosecuting military personnel involved in the bribery, the Kodam Wirabuana will also report the people who handed over the bribes to the military personnel. "We'll make an official police report." said Agus.
