Army Personnel Arrested for Counterfeit Money Involvement

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - An army personnel was apprehended by joint officials in a restaurant at Summarecon, South Bekasi, on Tuesday evening, Mar 15. The suspect is identified as `T`, a chief sergeant allegedly involved in the distribution of counterfeit money.
Bekasi City Police Resort spokesman First Inspector Puji Astuti said T was arrested along with three civilians in possession of tens of millions in counterfeit. “We arrested the civilian, meanwhile the army personnel was handed over to the army military police (MP),” Puji said Wednesday, Mar 16.
Authorities are still interrogating the three civilians who were apprehended intensively. There is a change that there might other suspects involve in the case.
Army Information Chief Brigadier General Sabrar Fadhilah confirmed that his subordinate hadbeen arrested due to an involvement in counterfeit money. “Yes, there was an arrest made,” Fadhilah said.
Fadhilah said he is not certain that his subordinate is involved in the crime, because during the time of the crime, T was invited to dinner by his colleague at a restaurant. When T was about to pay his bill, he was caught by the armed forces military police along with his colleague.
