BNNP Destroys Rp12 Billion Drugs in Kalimantan

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Provincial-National Narcotics Agency (BNNP) and law enforcements of Kalimantan destroyed a total of 6.23 kilograms of crystal meth and 119,090 karnopen pills, all worth Rp12.1 billion. The crystal meth is a result of a recent bust on August 23 in South Kalimantan, while karnopen pills were from earlier bust on July that took place in Syamsudin Noor Airport.

Chief of BNNP Kalimantan, Richard Nainggolan, said that the meth are from Malaysia and the pills are from Jakarta. Police have so far named one suspect as meth courier. “We have not named a suspect for the pills, as they were confiscated in the airport,” said Richard.

On Monday, August 31, BNNP have also secured 1,040,000 karnopen pills. Richard said that karnopen is banned due to meth-inducing effect. “Taking 5-10 karnopen pills will cause hallucination like that of using meth,” he said.
