Police Officer Arrested for Allegedly Using Drugs

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Metro Jaya Police spokesman, Sr.Comm. M. Iqbal, said the Sub-Unit II Drug Investigation Directorate of Metro Jaya Police Department have arrested five people for consuming crystal meth in Tebet, South Jakarta. One of them is a Adj.First Police Inspector.


“The police officer along with four other people were consuming crystal meth,” Iqbal said in a text message on Tuesday, May 26. Authorities have seized 1 packet of 0.2 gram of left-over crystal meth, 1 packet of 0.5 gram of crystal meth, a set of tool to consume meth, 3 matches and four mobile phones.


Iqbal said the arrest were made in the 1st floor room no.1 of Puri 3 boarding house located in Dr. Saharjo Street, Gang Sawo 3, RT 002 RW 009, South Manggarai, Tebet, South Jakarta. Those five people were arrested at 12 to 5pm on Friday, May 22.


They five were identified with initials BSP, YH, AF, RF and Adj.First Inspector PRH. PRH is known to have been posted in Motor Vehicle Criminal Investigation Unit of West Jakarta Resort Police.


Those five are charged with Article 114 paragraph (1) in conjuction with Article 132 paragraph (1) sub-article 112 paragraph (1) in conjuction with Article 132 paragraph (1) of Regulations No.35 Year 2009 on Drugs.
