TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – President Joko Widodo is slated to arrive in Jakarta last night after visiting a number of ASEAN member countries.

Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) prevention deputy Johan Budi said he was hopeful that the president would immediately make a decision to stem the lingering KPK-National Police row.

“I’m certain that President Jokowi has a solution or decision that is good for everyone,” he said in his office on Monday, February 10, 2015.

The KPK-National Police standoff began when the National Police’s detective department (Bareskrim) apprehended KPK deputy chief Bambang Widjojanto on January 23, 2015—only ten days after the anti-graft body named National Police chief candidate Comr. Gen. Budi Gunawan as a graft suspect.

Following Bambang’s arrest, multiple reports had been lodged with the Bareskrim against the other KPK commissioners in different cases. Bareskrim has even warranted investigations into KPK chief Abraham Samad and one of his deputies, Adnan Pandu Praja. President Jokowi has yet to take any action to resolve the conflict.
