Bojonegoro Mulls Raising Minimum Wage over Fuel Hike
Kamis, 20 November 2014 22:14 WIB
TEMPO.CO, Bojonegoro – The Regency of Bojonegoro, East Java will evaluate the amount of its district minimum wages for 2015 following the increased prices of subsidized diesel and gasoline. Bojonegoro's minimum wage was initially set at Rp1,029 million this year and proposed at Rp1,280,000 for next year.
However, the fuel price hike caused the local government to mull on whether next year's minimum wage proposal should be raised higher. "It's possible that we will re-evaluate the proposal," said Adi Witjaksono, chief of Bojonegoro's Manpower and Transmigration Department on Wednesday, November 19.
Adi said Bojonegoro is still waiting for a decision whether the provincial minimum wage is final, or if there would be a revision. He asked for the discussion to finalize soon, considering the deadline is in December.
