TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The government has confirmed that fuel price hike is to take place this month. However, Rieke Diah Pitaloka from the National Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) said that her party is yet to agree on fuel price hike.

"PDI-P is yet to agree the fuel price hike before the government explains the matter using constitutional perspective and logic," Rieke told Tempo.

Rieke said that the discussion on fuel price hike should cover all streams, including per barrel cost, oilrig cost, Pertamina calculation, and state revenue from oil and gas. Moreover, Rieke said that fuel price cannot be under market mechanism, given that oil price is currently decreasing.

Rieke denied that fuel price hike is compensated with Jokowi’s program on Smart Indonesia Card, Healthy Indonesia Card, and Proper Family Card. Rieke said that Jokowi has confirmed that the three programs have nothing to do with compensating the fuel price hike.
