TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) deputy chief Adnan Pandu Praja said although alleged bribery on Fahri Hamzah, member of the House of Representatives (DPR) from the Justice Prosperous Party (PKS), is not related to Hambalang case, Fahri can still be probed.

"It does not concern Hambalang, but when a state official receives money, it’s a key factor," said Adnan yesterday.

The KPK is still gathering evidence on alleged bribery to Fahri. "We will clarify which one is true and which one is not," said Adnan. Investigation on Fahri will be carried out after Hambalang trial ends.

The KPK has already received a testimony from Permai Group finance deputy director Yulianis who admitted of giving money to Fahri Hamzah.

The confession can pave an entrance for the KPK to investigate Fahri Hamzah. "This is the first transparent disclosure. We’re still waiting for other witnesses to support this claim," said KPK deputy chief Zulkarnain, Tuesday.

Yulianis' testimony can be categorized as qualified witness since she is a witness who sees, hears and experiences the event directly. This kind of testimony can be used as a legal evidence. "It’s a qualified witness, not 'testimonium de audito' witness or a witness who obtains information from another person," said Zulkarnain.

The KPK can use that information to develop case. However, the commission has yet to start the investigation on Fahri Hamzah.
