TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Tourism Ministry plans to develop a concept of nomadic tourism along Trans Java toll road. The initiative aims at promoting potential destinations in every region on the route.
“I want to implement nomadic tourism concept. For example, in which point or toll gate tourist can stay, then we promote destinations in that area,” said Tourism Minister Arief Yahya in Jakarta, Monday, December 10.
The concept of nomadic tourism is one of the ministry’s flagship programs as a temporary solution to boost a tourism destination. This concept is relatively fast to be developed and constructed.
Nomadic tourism is every activities or business that related to nomadic lifestyles and culture such as glamping (glamorous camping), utilizing homepod, and caravan as accommodation facilities. According to Arief, a homestay which is built from container could be developed. He calculated the figure under Rp100 million.
“I think this is interesting because it is portable which can be easily moved by boarding truck or container puller. There is also moveable homepod priced under Rp200 million from Arumdalu. That will improve nomadic tourism along Trans Java toll,” Arief noted.
The minister claimed he had communicated the plan to entrepreneurs and investors, made coordination with the Public Works and Housing Ministry and Transportation Ministry, and even officially launched several special roads of Trans Java toll.
“I remember the message from President to open more rest area for Trans Java toll road and introduce local products or services as to boost the tourism sector in the area,” he concluded.
