TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Minister Syafruddin asserts that medal-winning athletes in the Asian Games events will receive another bonus in the form of receiving a civil servant status.
“The notes are there and those who won a medal will have their status as a civil servant,” said Syafruddin at the Indoor Senayan Tennis court in Jakarta on Sunday.
The former police deputy chief said he has coordinated this with managers of the Asian Games sporting events. He also said that the National Police Chief and the Indonesian Armed Forces (TNI) will accommodate medal-winning athletes that want to establish a carrier in the military or police.
“State civil apparatus, TNI, or police, it’s up to the athletes to choose, without any test. Whoever wants to enter the police and TNI will be immediately hired,” said Syafruddin.
The series of bonuses does not stop there, Syafruddin asserted that the public works and public housing Ministry has prepared several houses for the athletes.
Previously reported, the bonuses that medal-winning Asian Games athletes have received range from hundreds of millions up to Rp1.5 billion for gold medalists.
