Ex-Metro TV Reporter Hilman Mattauch to Testify in Bimanesh Trial

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The trial on the obstruction of justice during Setya Novanto`s investigation continues. Today, April 9, defendant Bimanesh Sutarjo will be tried.
One of the witnesses that the KPK will bring to the stand is Hilman Mattauch, KPK prosecutor Takdir Suhan said on Monday.
Hilman is a former contributor to Metro TV and was the person driving the Setya's car that got into an accident on November 16 last year. He has also been named as a suspect in the accident, under charges of driving with negligence and causing injuries to others.
Prior to the accident, Hilman had interviewed the former DPR speaker. They were planning to go to Metro TV's building of a televised interview.

In addition to Hilman, other witnesses who will take the stand are three doctors from Medika Permata Hijau Hospital; surgeon Djoko Sanjoto Suhud, neurologist Nadia Husein Hamedan and cardiologist Mohammad Toyibi.
Prosecutors indicted Bimanesh for collaborating with Setya's lawyer Fredrich Yunadi to engineer a fake treatment at Medika Permata Hijau Hospital to get Setya out of the e-KTP scandal investigation by the KPK.
On the day of the accident, Bimanesh helped Fredrich secured a VIP treatment room at the hospital since 11:00 in the morning, whilst the accident happened in the evening.
Bimanesh is also charged with forging a diagnosis document over Setya's condition before the man even arrived in the hospital.
